Historical Development of Truck and Bus Spare Parts Manufacturing in Turkey

The production of truck and bus spare parts in Turkey dates back to the 1950s. During this period, small workshops began manufacturing and repairing parts to meet the maintenance needs of imported vehicles. In the 1960s and 1970s, with the development of the automotive industry, domestic production accelerated and a structured supplier industry started to emerge.

After the 1980s, the sector shifted towards export-oriented production, and with improvements in quality standards, Turkey became an important supplier in the global market. Today, the Turkish automotive supplier industry is a strong sector exporting high-quality truck and bus spare parts to many countries, especially in Europe.
